Jatt & Juliet 3 the blockbuster Punjabi film of this year, is finally getting its OTT release date. The third installment of Jagdeep Sidhu's romantic comedy will soon begin streaming on the Chaupal App (also available on OTTplay Premium) on September 19, 2024. Jatt & Juliet 3 features Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa reprising their iconic roles, along with Jasmin Bajwa, Rana Ranbir, B. N. Sharma, and Nasir Chinyoti.

Jatt & Juliet 3 plot summary and setting

In the film, a mission involving two Punjabi police officers travels to Bristol, UK, but things get complicated when they take an unexpected turn. Joining the police force and meeting Fateh's (Dosanjh) lovely supervisor, Pooja (Bajwa), sets in motion a romantic comedy full of unexpected turns, and a struggle of wits ensues. Along with a critical mission comes a rib-tickling affair: Will Pooja fall into Fateh's honey trap, or will Cupid's arrow lead to real love?

June 27, 2024, was the global release date of Jatt & Juliet 3. The film's opening week in India was successful, earning ₹23.1 crore. Over ₹8.7 crore was collected in India during the second week. The film became the highest-grossing Indian Punjabi film of all time, earning over ₹107 crore around the world.

Director Jagdeep Sidhu's approach to the sequel

In an interview with ETimes, Sidhu asserted that Jatt & Juliet is a significant franchise. The filmmaker had to ensure that the third installment didn't appear significantly different from the prequels or overly similar due to its late release date. He did his best to bring new ideas to the table. In order to please both the franchise's loyal fan base and its potential new viewers, Sidhu had to draw on his extensive knowledge of the series' core elements while also adding modern twists.

Prior to the release, Sidhu stressed that the audience will decide the film's success, no matter how careful he is. Rest assured, his judgements are now over; the outcome is entirely dependent on the audience's reaction.
