As the world has welcomed the new year 2024, here's a wide variety of titles releasing on OTT platforms this week, taking viewers on a cinematic adventure. This week, there's a mix of content available on streaming services, including exciting documentaries, riveting dramas, terrifying horror stories, and heart-pounding adventures. To name just a few things: A man's turbulent life involved in a financial crisis, the first high-profile fraud case of the crypto era, the horrors released by a dreamcatcher, and much more.

Learn about the titles releasing in the first week of January 2024 in detail below:

Bitconned - January 1 (Netflix)

Even as a young boy, Ray Trapani aspired to a life of crime. In 2017, during the height of the Bitcoin boom, scammers found the perfect opportunity to prey on the cryptocurrency market. Thus, Trapani eagerly seized the opportunity when Ray's acquaintance proposed the concept of developing a cryptocurrency debit card. The one catch was that he was completely clueless on how to pull that off. The internet community's voracious appetite for "get rich quick" led to Centra Tech's rapid ascent to daily profits in the millions of dollars, as did phoney LinkedIn accounts and purchased endorsements from celebrities. Did it exist? No. But was it successful? Very possibly. Bryan Storkel takes viewers on an exhilarating and raunchy journey through Ray's tumultuous life in this documentary, along with his loved ones, friends from his past, and the journalist who brought attention to Centra Tech—the first high-profile fraud case of the crypto era.
