The Good Luck Jerry actor also said that she does not understand the whole South VS North debate.
The internet was full of discussions and debates regarding the South and North Indian film industries and even some top billed stars were involved in the conversations. Janhvi Kapoor, who is preparing for the release of Good Luck Jerry, has now talked about the South Indian film industry and her take on the debate.
"I really want to do a South film. I want to work with so many of these amazing directors, actors, and technicians. I think they are at the top of their game. I have always been such a fan of their work and their music. I think I am just waiting for the right opportunity," Janhvi told IndiaToday.in.
About the South vs North film debate, she said that she does not understand the debate and that we are making films for India, which is one country. She added that she does not get the debate because she feels that we have so much talent to offer in the country and that more people are consuming content which is good.
She further stated that the level of our content will benefit if people come together without segregation and the idea that one will only work in a certain industry.
Interestingly, Janvi is getting ready for the release of Good Luck Jerry, which is the Hindii remake of the hit Tamil movie, Kolamaavu Kokila. Written and directed by Nelson, Kolamaavu Kokila is a black comedy that stars Nayanthara in the lead. The Hindi remake is helmed by Sidharth Sengupta and is produced by Lyca Productions, Colour Yellow Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films.
Also featuring Deepak Dobriyal, Mita Vashisht, Neeraj Sood, and Sushant Singh in important roles, the Hindi remake is set to start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on July 29.
