Nushrratt Bharuccha starrer Janhit Mein Jaari has finally premiered on OTT after its theatrical release last month. The social comedy follows the tale of a small-town educated woman Manokamna Tripathi, played by Nushrratt, a sales representative working for a local condom manufacturer in Madhya Pradesh. A tragic turn of events pushes her to immerse herself more emotionally and responsibly into the job than ever before. The Jai Basantu Singh directorial also stars Anud Singh in his Bollywood debut.

The filmmaker has recently revealed the kind of research he had to do in order to direct this social-comedy drama. He shared his journey and said, "It started with just one idea of a girl selling condoms. When I went to the small towns of UP and MP for research, I observed that in India, a girl never goes to buy a condom. They don’t even know the importance of the same. Even when a guy buys condoms, the buyer and seller are awkward. A girl buying condoms is a massive taboo in India. She is stigmatized."

"Women face most of the repercussions of not using a condom. The more I researched about it, the more it inspired me to make this movie," he added.

Meanwhile, talking about the audience's responses, Jai mentioned, "My most significant achievement will be when every woman will carry a condom with them and know its importance. Through this film, I managed to start that conversation. People have praised the movie and accepted it very positively. As a director, I feel I have achieved something and people have finally started talking about condoms openly. OTT has played an enormous role in keeping the movies alive."

Janhit Mein Jaari, which also has Tinnu Anand, Vijay Raaz and Paritosh Tripathi in other pivotal roles, is available to stream on ZEE5.
