Jana Gana Mana trailer: Prithviraj-Suraj Venjaramoodu’s film paints a grim picture of the reality of Indian politics

The highly awaited trailer of Jana Gana Mana has finally been released today. The trailer delves deep into the murky world of politics in the country, and the struggles of people in search of justice.

The trailer opens with a shot of Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is seen waiting to get a meeting with a political dignitary. Over the course of their interaction, viewers can gleam of a situation where Prithviraj is in pursuit of financial aid after being the victim of police brutality. But his predicament seems to be part of something bigger as viewers get to see snippets of political unrest and protests plaguing the country, one that puts the police force into a difficult situation. In a shocking moment, a bomb suddenly goes off, the instant Prithviraj steps outside of the office, and a smile lights his face.

In addition to Prithviraj, Suraj Venjaramoodu also stars in the film, essaying the role of a police officer. The stars had previously shared the screen in the 2019 film, Driving Licence.

The upcoming film also features Mamta Mohandas, Sri Divya, Shari, Vincy Aloshious, Shammi Thilakan, Raja Krishnamoorthy, Pasupathi, Azhagam Perumal, Ilavarasu, Vinod Sagar, Dhruvan and Vijayakumar in pivotal roles.

Dijo Jose Antony has directed Jana Gana Mana from a script penned by Sharis Mohammed, marking their most recent collaboration together. The duo had also worked together on the 2018 film, Queen, which also features Dhruvan. Supriya Menon and Listin Stephen have produced the upcoming movie.

Jana Gana Mana will be released in theatres on April 28, 2022.
