Jalsa: Vidya Balan-Shefali Shah’s film unveils intriguing new poster; trailer out tomorrow

The upcoming film, directed by Suresh Triveni, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video

Audiences with a penchant for thrillers have a lot to look forward to in Jalsa. An intriguing premise and a stellar cast led by Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah are definitely some of them. The makers recently unveiled a new poster of the film, and it is intriguing to say the least.

The poster, which Balan has shared on her official Instagram handle, sees her with Shah. The two are bound together with tape over their faces, which covers Balan’s mouth and Shah’s eyes. In the tape, viewers can see a car flashing its tail lights, set against the backdrop of a city in the night. Part of the post’s caption reads ‘Watch her truth become a secret.’ The trailer of the upcoming film will be released tomorrow.

Shah also shared the poster on her Instagram with the caption ‘Blind to the truth, secrets become her only friends’.

The upcoming film is touted to be a drama thriller, centering on a hit-and-run case of an 18-year-old girl. Balan will portray the role of a journalist in the film, and Shah plays her cook. In addition to the two, the film also features Manav Kaul, Rohini Hattangadi, Iqbal Khan, Vidhatri Bandi, Shrikant Mohan Yadav, Shafeen Patel, and Surya Kasibhatla, among others. Balan and Shah will be appearing in a film together for the first time in Jalsa.

The film is directed by Suresh Triveni, who had collaborated with Balan before in the 2017 film Tumhari Sulu. Jalsa is produced under the banners of T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment.

Jalsa will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video from March 18, 2022.
