The film, which stars Rajinikanth in the lead, is helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar of Beast fame
The team of Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer is getting bigger by the day. The latest we hear is that the Telugu actor Sunil has joined the set. With this, the film has now achieved the rare feat of casting top actors from all four major South Indian film industries. The first to join the cast was Kannada Superstar Shiva Rajkumar and the film will mark his debut in Tamil. The makers then threw a surprise that Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal was also joining the cast. It was later revealed that the actor was appearing in a cameo role and that his portions have already been shot. And now Sunil has joined the Telugu film industry.
Though much has not been revealed about his role in the film, the team dropped his look from the film, in which he is seen donning keikogi, a Japanese attire worn during performing martial arts. Now fans of Rajinikanth are wondering if there would be an addition from Bollywood as well.
The star cast for Jailer includes Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vinayakan, Vasanth Ravi to name a few. Ramya Krishnan is working with Rajinikanth after two decades. The last time they were seen together was in Baba (2002), in which she did a cameo reprising her iconic role Neelambari from Padayappa (1999).
Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander, who had earlier worked with Rajinikanth in Petta and Darbar. Cinematography is by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing by R Nirmal. The film, bankrolled by Sun Pictures, is all set to hit screens in the summer of mid-2023.
After Jailer, Rajinikanth will be seen in Aishwarya Rajinikanth's Lal Salaam, which is said to be a sports drama. The film stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth and Rajinikanth will be seen in a cameo in it. AR Rahman is composing music for the film.
There has been many speculations about Rajinikanth's next. It seems that Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel has narrated a script to the Superstar and that the actor liked it. However, there has been no official confirmation about the Superstar being part of it. There is also a buzz about Suriya being part of TJ Gnanavel's next.
