Jailer Unlocked OTT release date: The series includes interviews with the makers, behind-the-scenes footage, and recollections from Nelson Dilipkumar about working with Rajinikanth.

Jailer, 2023 Tamil film starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, had completed one year since its release recently. To mark this, the makers of the film are looking to release a three-part series documenting the making of the film. Titled Jailer Unlocked, it will be released on August 16 on SunNXT, or alternatively OTTplay Premium.

Jailer Unlocked- A 3-part series to be out

Jailer, starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, released a year back in theatres to roaring response. The film is written and directed by filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar and has completed one year since its release.

For this occasion, Sun Pictures which backed the film, has announced that a three-part series titled Jailer Unlocked, will be released on August 16, tracing the making of the film. It will premiere on SunNXT and additionally be available on OTTplay Premium.

The promo shows snippets of makers talking about the film, behind-the-scenes of Jailer, and Nelson Dilipkumar recollecting his journey working with Rajinikanth. Additionally, it will include footage of technicians who worked on the film.

One year of Jailer

Jailer boasts an ensemble star cast including actors Ramya Krishnan, Vinayak, Vasanth Ravi, Mirnaa Menon, Yogi Babu and others, with Mohanlal, Shivrajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sunil, and others making cameo appearances. It is available for streaming on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium.

The film revolves around a retired jailer, Muthuvel Pandian, who lives with his family and grandson happily. However, after his police son is kidnapped by a smuggler, the jailer has to resort to being a ruthless cop he once was, to retrieve his son. Jailer opened to positive reception upon its release. The music is scored by Anirudh Ravichander.

As per reports, it is expected that director Nelson Dilipkumar is working on the script of the sequel. Jailer 2 is expected to be called Hukum. It refers to the title of the highly popular song number from Jailer. However, no official announcement on the same has been made yet by the makers.
