The buzz surrounding Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer escalated after the likes of Mohanlal and Shivaraj Kumar were roped in to play crucial roles in the movie. Sunil and Tamannaah are the latest addition to the cast, going by the makers' latest announcement.

Film buffs and fans of Rajinikanth are wondering what Nelson is cooking with an ensemble cast in this action drama bankrolled by Sun Pictures. The film is an acid test for the director's career considering the below par performance of his last outing, Beast. The Superstar's previous film, Annaatthe, too, didn't impress moviegoers, and hence, cinephiles are keeping their fingers crossed.

Though the project was speculated as a summer release initially, it looks like there is only a bleak chance for that to happen. With the likes of Ponniyin Selvan 2 and a few other films getting ready for release in April, Jailer was said to hit the screens a little later.

We now hear that the movie is likely to be released on August 11. An official confirmation is awaited from makers on the same though. The shooting of the film is still underway and it is believed that the team will take a final call on the release date after they are ready with promo videos.

Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vinayakan and Vasanth Ravi are others who play pivotal roles in the project which has music composed by Anirudh. A sneak peek video was unveiled by makers during the birthday of Rajinikanth a month ago. He plays Muthuvel Pandian, a mysterious character in the film, which is expected to have several surprises for his fans.

Stun Siva's action episodes are likely to be one of the highlights of the project which marks Anirudh's third collaboration for a Rajini-starrer after Petta and Darbar.
