With the poster, the team has confirmed Jackie Shroff's presence in the film
It's official! Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff is indeed part of Superstar Rajinikanth's next. The producers dropped a menacing poster of the actor on their social media handle to confirm his presence in the film. In the poster, Jackie is seen shirtless and in a rugged avatar looking intensely at something. The look is now being widely shared on social media. It was not long ago that speculations were rife that Jackie Shroff was part of Jailer. A video of the actor leaving the sets of the film had gone viral.
The team of Jailer has pulled a casting coup by roping in big names from across the south film industry. First to get on board was Kannada Superstar Shiva Rajkumar (the film also marks his debut in Tamil), followed by Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal and Telugu actor Sunil. And with the presence of Jackie Shroff, the team has a Bollywood presence, too. The shoot for Jailer is happening at a brisk pace and after a few leaks from the set, the team is being careful and closely guarded about the developments.
As the title suggests, Rajinikanth plays a jailer in the film, whose character is called Muthuvel Pandian. The team had dropped his first look from the film with a promotional video on the occasion of his birthday. Jailer is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, marking his maiden collaboration with the Superstar. The star cast also includes Tamanaah, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Vinayakan and Yogi Babu.
Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander marking his third venture for Rajinikanth, after Petta and Darbar. Cinematography is by Kartik Vijay Kannan and editing is by R Nirmal. The film is bankrolled by Sun Pictures, who had earlier produced Rajinikanth's Annaththe. The emotional drama, helmed by Siruthai Siva, met with a lukewarm response at the box office.
