Theatres across India have collectively earned over Rs 390 crores, thanks to superhits namely Jailer, Gadar 2, OMG 2, and Bhola Shankar.
Jailer, Gadar 2, OMG 2, Bhola Shankar together record busiest single-weekend opening, earn over Rs 390 crores
Two of India’s premier film bodies, the Producers Guild of India and the Multiplex Association of India, announced that August 11–13 was their busiest single weekend post-reopening. The weekend set a new all-time theatrical gross box office record for the cinema industry in its 100+ year history.
The credit for this success goes to the movies Jailer, Gadar 2, OMG 2, and Bhola Shankar, which were released on August 11.
The weekend drew 2.10 crore+ moviegoers to theatres across the country, which is also the highest combined Admissions record in the last 10-year history, according to a press statement by the two eminent film bodies.
"Mainstream storytelling executed in the right way has resulted in box office records being shattered. A massive achievement like this is the result of an incredible filmmaking team, with cast and crew coming together to create a truly special movie-going experience. The turnout at theatres has infused a new energy in our industry; audiences are responding in numbers we have not seen for a very long time; even the early morning shows are getting sold out. This weekend has been a wonderful experience for people who love mainstream Indian films," said Shibasish Sarkar, President of the Producers Guild of India.

Individually speaking, Rajinikanth's Jailer and Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 have collected over Rs 100 crore each at the box office in India.
