Jailer: For Shivarajkumar, Rajinikanth is family, but a die-hard fan of Kamal Haasan

Tamil cinema fans have long debated the eternal question - Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan? However, for Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar, the answer is clear as he expresses his love and admiration for both stars. Growing up in Chennai during his early years, Shivarajkumar fondly recalled his childhood memories with Rajinikanth and his unwavering devotion to Kamal Haasan's movies.

In a recent interview with Behindwoods, Shivarajkumar confessed to being an ardent fan of Kamal Haasan. He enthusiastically shared, "Kamal Haasan is my favourite of all. I am such a fan that I will watch all his movies, first day, first show. If I couldn't watch the first show of his movie, I won't watch it all. I would call the office of Raaj Kamal Films pretending to be my father's (Dr Rajkumar) manager. I would ask for 10 tickets at nearby theatres like AVM Rajeswari or Kamala. I used to lie and cheat to watch his movies. I am that kind of a fan."

While Kamal Haasan remains his ultimate favourite, Shivarajkumar also holds a special bond with Rajinikanth, considering him as part of his family. Recalling their close association, he shared a cherished memory , "As a young boy, I would visit Sabarimala with my father (Kannada matinee icon Rajkumar) and I would hold the hands of Rajinikanth sir while going there. I still hold on to those special memories. Rajinikanth is like my chithappa (uncle)."

Sharing the screen space with Rajinikanth in the upcoming movie Jailer has been a memorable experience for Shivarajkumar. He expressed his delight at the opportunity to work with Rajinikanth and the chance to share candid conversations during the shooting. "I told him (Rajinikanth) that I felt like I was talking to my father while chatting with him. And he got a little emotional hearing that," Shivarajkumar revealed.

Directed by Nelson, Jailer features Shivarajkumar in a key cameo alongside Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead. The film is due in cinemas on August 10.
