Jailer 2: Rajinikanth, Nelson to kickstart the promo shoot on THIS date; Big announcement soon?

Rajinikanth is all set to reunite with filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar for the sequel to their blockbuster film, Jailer. The project, titled Jailer 2, is expected to have its promo shoot soon.

Jailer, the 2023-released action thriller film, emerged as one of the highest-grossing films in the career of its leading man, Rajinikanth. The movie, which marked the superstar’s first collaboration with talented filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar was loved by the audiences for its making, performance, and music. After a long wait, Rajinikanth and Nelson are now all set to kickstart the filming of their blockbuster film’s long-awaited sequel, titled Jailer 2, in December 2024.

Jailer 2 promo shoot date revealed

If the recent updates are to be believed, director Nelson Dilipkumar and his team are all set to treat the Tamil cinema audiences and the Rajinikanth fans in December 2024, with the Jailer 2 official announcement. According to the grapevine, the highly anticipated project will be launched with a special promo video on the special occasion of the legendary superstar’s 74th birthday, on December 12, 2024. The Jailer 2 promo shoot is reportedly slated to kickstart on December 5, 2024, in Chennai.

Along with the Jailer 2 announcement promo video, the makers are reportedly planning to conduct the look tests and the first look poster shoot, throughout the first weekend of December 2024. In that case, film fanatics can expect multiple updates on the film on both December 11, 2024 evening, and December 12, 2024 morning, as a part of Rajinikanth’s birthday celebrations. The principal photography of the film, however, will begin only by the first quarter of 2025, after the superstar wraps up his next outing, Coolie.

Jailer: All you need to know

For the uninitiated, Rajinikanth played the titular character Jailer, aka ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian IPS, a retired police officer, in the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial. Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar, the senior superstars of the Malayalam and Kannada film industries made cameo appearances in the film, as Mathew and Narasimha. Jailer features a stellar star cast including Jackie Shroff, Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, Sunil, Mirnaa Menon, VTV Ganesh, Redin Kingsley, and others in supporting roles.
