Jai Bhim: Mari Selvaraj praises Suriya and team ahead of movie’s release

As Suriya’s legal drama gets ready for a release, fans of the star are eagerly waiting for a quality movie that would not compromise for anything. Now, director Mari Selvaraj has taken to social media to laud the movie.

Taking to Twitter, the Karnan director wrote, “I shower my love and wishes to Suriya sir for bringing out the right message at the right time. Let Jai Bhim win,”

The filmmaker also congratulated the entire team of Jai Bhim.

In the post, Selvaraj also shared an important message, addressing a question a few people have asked since the trailer of the movie was released, about why filmmakers make films highlighting the hardships the oppressed have faced in the past.

“History had laid a heavy rock on the chest of the oppressed. He(the oppressed) has now slowly started moving the rock with the help of art,” wrote the filmmaker.

He used this to explain how these movies and art forms are important and that accepting the truth and welcoming this is the first step where human equality begins.

Jai Bhim, which is written and directed by T. J. Gnanavel is based on real events that happened in 1993.

The movie will follow Senggeni and Rajakannu, with the latter being convicted by the police. As the husband goes missing, Senggeni seeks help from Advocate Chandru (Suriya).
