Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel hands over International Film Festival Award to SR Kathir

SR Kathir had won the award for the Best Cinematography at Boston International Film Festival

Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel recently handed over Indie Spirit Best Cinematography award at the Boston International Film Festival to the film's cinematographer SR Kathir. The film's production house shared the news on its micro-blogging page, "The Director of #JaiBhim, @tjgnan Sir handed over #BostonInternationalFilmFestival's Award for the Indie Spirit Best Cinematography to @srkathiir Sir 🥳 @Suriya_offl #Jyotika @rajsekarpandian @BostonInterFF (sic)."

The film's lead actress Lijimol Jose, too, won the Indie Spirit Best Actress at the same festival. The production house had made the announcement recently, "#JaiBhim bags the Awards for Indie Spirit Best Actress & Indie Spirit Best Cinematography at the #BostonInternationalFilmFestival Congratulations @jose_lijomol & @srkathiir Sir on the Awards! Thank You @BostonInterFF for the honour @Suriya_offl #Jyotika @tjgnan @rajsekarpandian (sic)."

The film has going through a great run and had won the Best Film & Best Supporting Actor awards at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival as well. The film has been receiving rave reviews, ever since it released on Amazon Prime Video.

The film, inspired by a real-life landmark court case, also got selected among the 276 feature films eligible for the 94th Academy Awards in the Best Picture category. It was featured in the Academy’s popular spotlight section Scene at the Academy. The courtroom drama has Suriya, Lijomol Jose, Manikandan and Prakash Raj in key roles.

Now speculations are rife that Suriya will team up with TJ Gnanavel once again adn the buzz is that the film will be a quickie. However, there is no official announcement on the same yet.
