Actress Lijimol Jose has signed her next in Tamil. The actress, who shot to fame in Tamil with Jai Bhim, will be seen next in Kaadhal Enbadhu Podhuudamai. The film will be directed by Jayaprakash Radhakrishnan and the star cast includes Lijimol, Rohini, Anusha, Deepa, Vineeth and Kalesh. The shoot for the film began on August 26. Kaadhal Enbadhu Podhuudamai will be bankrolled by Mankind Cinemas and Symmetry Cinemas in association with Nith's Productions. Though the actress didn't reveal anything about her upcoming film, other than the poster, her fans are already excited about the same.
Lijimol made her acting debut with the critically acclaimed Malayalam film Maheshinte Prathikaram (2016), in which she was seen opposite Fahadh Faasil. She later went on to work in films like Kattapanayile Rithwik Roshan, Honey Bee 2.5 and Premasoothran to name a few. She made her Tamil debut with the thriller Sivappu Manjal Pachai in which she teamed up opposite Siddharth. She played GV Prakash's sister in the film and her natural and effortless portrayal won many hearts. The film was directed by Sasi and it opened to positive reviews.
However, it was her portrayal as Sengenni, a tribal woman from the Irula community, who is in the lookout for her missing husband Rasakannu (played by Manikandan) that won her a lot of acclaim. The film had Suriya playing a lawyer, a character inspired by former Justice Chandru. Jai Bhim delves into police brutality and discrimination meted out against the marginalised communities. The plot is inspired by a real-life case that was fought by Justice K Chandru. The film garnered such a huge response from people across the world that it has become a crucial film in the annals of anti-caste cinema. The film was longlisted at the 94th Academy Awards though it failed to make it to the shortlist.
