Jadesha K Hampi prepping Kaatera 2 with Vijay Kumar's 29th film?
The first poster of writer-filmmaker Jadesha’s collaboration with Duniya Vijay is quite reminiscent of the Darshan starrer Kaatera, which was written by the former.

Jadesha K Hampi, who wrote Kaatera, has written and will direct Duniya Vijay's 29th film
On April 11, nearly 3 months after it was first announced, the collaboration between Guru Shishyaru director and Kaatera writer Jadesha K Hampi and Duniya Vijay, the as-yet-untitled #VK29 was officially launched. Jadesha will present a tale of resistance and survival, which, along with the first-look poster gives off major Kaatera vibes. The initial announcement poster featured a dog facing off with a tiger, while that of Kaatera had a dog and sheep.Vijay has said that Jadesha is presenting a hard-hitting tale, so it remains to be seen what he brings to the table eventually. But if his previous filmography is anything to go by - Gentleman, Guru Shishyaru, Kaatera (story) - rest assured, there will be some substance.
In January this year, it was said that the film would be produced by Krishna Sarthak and Jagadish Gowda, but it’s now being made by KV Sathyaprakash, who’d bankrolled Challenging Star Darshan’s Sarathi earlier. Jagadish apparently handed over the responsibility of producing the film to Sathyaprakash, as he would need at least another 6 months to get things in order. Since the team has been prepping to get started for a while and that there is an important role played by an actor whose schedule cannot be changed around to wait for Jagadish, made this arrangement with Sathyaprakash.

It has been reported that the special role in question is that of Tamil actor SJ Suryah, although the team has not officially confirmed this. The film, meanwhile, will mark the acting debut of Vijay’s daughter Monica, who will go with the screen name Ritanya, going forward. She will play Vijay’s daughter in the film as well and will be paired with Daredevil Musthafa fame Shishir. Reports suggest that Rachita Ram, who last worked with Vijay on Johnny Johnny Yes Papa, has been approached as the lead opposite the latter.

The film will be largely be shot on specially erected sets, work on which is already on for the first schedule spanning 25 days that will begin shortly. Speaking at the muhurtha, Vijay said that he insisted on having his daughter debut with him, so that she receives a platform to show audiences the artiste in her. Playing heroine can then come at a later stage, he reckons.
