Debutant filmmaker Shamal Sulaiman has cast some of the most talented supporting actors as leads for his first film Jackson Bazaar Youth. The upcoming entertainer, which is written by Usman Marath and backed by Sudani From Nigeria director Zakariya, is all set to hit theatres in May.

The film has Indrans, Lukman Avaran, Jaffer Idukki, Abhiram Radhakrishnan and Chinnu Chandini in lead roles. It revolves around a popular band, whose performances are much-anticipated by the crowds.

Much like Lukman’s previous release Sulaikha Manzil, which revolved around a wedding, the upcoming movie that is set to hit theatres on May 19, also promises to be a festive feel-good entertainer.

Indrans will be playing a lead character in the movie, which also focuses on friendships, survival and how their popularity can become a disadvantage sometimes. All the cast members were also trained playing the band instruments as part of the movie, which has music composed by Govind Vasantha. Incidentally, the film is also inspired by true events.

It’s also a pivotal movie for the actors, who have been part of hits in recent times such as Thallumaala, Pachuvum Atbhutha Vilakkum and Bheemante Vazhi. May already promises to be a packed month for Malayalam cinema, so the makers will have to wait and see if their content can pull people to the theatres in a month filled with releases such as 2018 and Mammootty’s Kaathal: The Core.

Lukman is already an actor to look out for, after his performances in Thallumaala as well as Saudi Vellakka. The filmmakers who had worked with him in the recent past, have been all praise for his work ethic.

In a recent interview with OTTplay, Tharun, who had worked with the actor in Operation Java and Saudi Vellakka, said, “For Saudi Vellakka, I wanted an actor who could understand the importance of the character in this film and Lukman got that clearly. I am fortunate that I have an actor like him, who understands what’s required for a movie, in my friends circle.”
