Huston recently wrapped production on House of Gucci, and he co-starred in the latest season of Fargo.
Jack Huston has joined the cast of Amazon’s Prime Video’s upcoming drama series Expats as a male lead. The drama series will be based on Janice Y.K. Lee’s novel The Expatriates. It is set in the backdrop of Hong Kong. Expats is the story of an international community whose lives are bound together forever after a sudden family tragedy. Three women stand at the center of the story: Mercy (Ji-young Yoo), Margaret and Hilary.
Jack will play the character David Starr, who has long lived in the shadow of his impressive wife Hilary. When the expat community is struck by a catastrophic event, his old demons resurface, forcing him to confront who he’s become.
“Expats is an exciting reunion for me and Jack, who was the lead in my first feature Posthumous,” Lulu Wang said in a statement. “Jack is such a thoughtful, empathetic actor. I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to collaborate again,” Lulu added.
Jack Huston has appeared in numerous movies, including American Hustle, Hail, Caesar!, The Irishman, Ben-Hur and Antebellum. He has also played several roles on television, including his memorable performance as Richard Harrow in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire Felix Babineau in the American crime drama Mr. Mercedes and more recently, as Odis Weff in the fourth season of Fargo.
Expats is executive produced by Lulu Wang, Nicole Kidman and Per Saari for Blossom Films, Theresa Park for her Per Capita Productions, Dani Melia and Stan Wlodkowski. Janice will also be serving as consulting producer and writer. Alice Bell is the writer and executive producer. Apart from producing, Lulu also serves as the showrunner.
