The actor, who plays one of the leads in the mini-series that revolves around love on dating apps, opens up about his belief in love and new-age dating
Abhishek Nigam, who is known for playing the lead in the mythological TV series Ali Baba: Ek Andaaz Andekha Chapter 2, plays a pivotal role in the recently released mini-series Jab We Matched, which revolves around a group of teenagers and their love lives. When asked about his school days' romance, Abhishek said, "I wasn't very popular in school, but I did have a few crush encounters in college."
The actor was also asked about his opinion on the changing style of dating, with dating apps taking centre stage over face-to-face interaction. When questioned about one of the misconceptions people have about dating that he doesn't believe in, Abhishek responded, "That love fades away over time for the person you loved when you were in a relationship. I think it stays."
Previously, Abhishek acted in the Bollywood film Panipath, as well as in series such as Hero Gayab Mode On, Akbar Rakht Se Takht Ka Safar, and Mere Sai - Shraddha Aur Saburi. He has also appeared in several music videos, including Sun Le Saathiya and Dil Kahe, among others.
Directed by Srinivas Sunderrajan and written by Neil Chitnis, Amrit Paul, Bhavya Raj, and Ritu Mago, Jab We Matched is a four-episode series that features Priyank Sharma, Mayur More, Prit Kamani, Shivangi Joshi, Jasmin Bhasin, and Revathi Pillai. Each episode has an intriguing title, such as Algorithm, Jalkukde, Sirf Ek Date, and Formula Sheet, and each character has a unique perspective on dating and life goals.
The show is currently streaming on Amazon miniTV.
