There seems to be a change in plan in Vijay Antony's upcoming film releases. The latest we learn is that the long-delayed Tamilarasan will hit screens on April 14 and not Pichaikkaran 2. Tamilarasan, is directed by Babu Yogeswaran and has Ramya Nambeesan as the leading lady. The action entertainer, in which Vijay Antony plays a power-packed role, was last supposed to release on March 31, but got pushed due to release of the biggies- Silambarasan TR's Pathu Thala and Vetri Maaran's first instalment of Viduthalai.

The release of Tamilarasan has been pushed multiple times and fans of the actor are hoping that the film finally sees the light of the day. The film marks the comeback of Suresh Gopi and Sonu Sood in the Tamil film industry and the supporting cast includes Robo Shankar, Radha Ravi, Yogi Babu, Munishkanth and Sangeetha Krish. The plot revolves around a man who has to battle a dreaded network comprising cops and influential people.
While music for the film is by maestro Ilaiyaraaja, cinematography is by RD Rajasekhar and editing is by AL Ramesh and Bhuvan Srinivasan. Anal Arasu has choreographed the action scenes for the film while Dinesh Kumar and Sathish Krishnan have handled the dance choreography. S Kowsalya Rani has bankrolled the project.

Earlier Vijay Antony had announced that Pichaikkaran 2 would be released on the occasion of Tamil New Year. The film will be released in Malayalam (Bhikshakkaran2), Telugu (Bichagadu2) and Kannada (Bhikshuka2 ) as well. Vijay Antony has also doubled up as the producer, director, editor and music composer of the film.
Pichaikkaran 2 as the title aptly suggests is a sequel to Pichaikkaran (2016), which was directed by Sasi. The plot of the original revolves around a rich businessman who had to pretend to be a beggar for 48 days. Now, fans are awaiting a new release date update from the team.
