Balaji Pictures shared on Monday the official announcement of the highly anticipated film called ‘The Sabarmati Report’ starring 12th Fail actor Vikrant Massey in the lead role. The production house led by acclaimed director-producer Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor also shared the release date for the theatrical film, along with the rest of the cast, which includes Jawan fame Riddhi Dogra and Raashi Khanna. The Sabarmati Report star cast and details

Helmed by Bamfaad director Ranjan Chandel, the impressive star cast of Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna and Riddhi Dogra is now officially roped in for Ekta Kapoor’s project.

Loosely based on the real-life events of Gujarat, The Sabarmati Report is anticipated to be a political thriller that will take inspiration from true events. In a creative official announcement, the Balaji production team shared the details later on Monday on social media.

Taking to Instagram, the team wrote, “Get ready to unfold history with an untold story—The Sabarmati Report—a riveting journey into the 2002 incident that left an indelible mark on the entire nation!”

On the work front, Vikrant Massey is currently basking in the success of Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail, which was massively acclaimed for its portrayal of challenges to becoming a civil servant and overcoming poverty and other roadblocks. The book adaptation is based on real-life IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma. The movie also stars Medha Shankar, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee.
