Rajkumar Periasamy will be directing the big budget project,
Rajkumar, Kamal and Sai Pallavi
A few months ago, an announcement from Raaj Kamal Films International, the production company of Kamal Haasan, left many film buffs surprised. Sivakarthikeyan was roped in to play the lead in a film to be bankrolled by the veteran actor-filmmaker; the project was tentatively titled as SK 21.
Rangoon fame Rajkumar Periasamy is at the helm of the movie which will go on floors soon. There have been unconfirmed reports of Sai Pallavi coming on board to play the female lead. The production company has now made it official, on the occasion of her birthday falling today. The tweet from its social media page read, "We are elated to welcome talented performer @Sai_Pallavi92 on board (sic)."
Along with the post, a few pictures of Pallavi posing for photos with Kamal and Rajkumar, too, were released. The film will be co-produced by Sony Pictures Films India. The movie, which is expected to have thrilling action scenes by Anbariv as one of its highlights, is likely to revolve around the element of patriotism.
The untitled project is Raaj Kamal's 51st film; their latest movie Vikram is gearing up for a theatrical release on June 3 in multiple languages.
The other details related to the cast and crew of SK 21 are expected to be out in a few months' time. Kamal is likely to join Shankar's Indian 2 soon to complete the pending portions of the much-anticipated big budget flick.
On the other hand, Sivakarthikeyan has Cibi Chakaravarthi's Don releasing in theatres this Friday. Ravikumar's Ayalaan and Anudeep's bilingual movie SK 20 (tentative title) are other projects he currently has in his kitty. Sai Pallavi has Udugula Venu's Virata Parvam which is ready for release and Gautham Ramachandran's Gargi which was announced earlier today.
