Disney+ Hotstar is going all guns blazing to make its presence felt in the Telugu entertainment industry. Actor Ram Charan is on board as the brand ambassador of Disney+ Hotstar. He will be the face of the international OTT brand's launch campaign in the Telugu market titled Mana Vinoda Vishwam, where he'll extensively promote the various Telugu movies and shows that premiere on Disney+ Hotstar. Three of this weekend's releases on the platform have been in Telugu, namely, Nithiin's Maestro, the pre-independence era web show Unheard and the Telugu dubbed version of Vijay Sethupathi, Taapsee-starrer Anabelle Sethupathi.
Ram Charan called Disney+ Hotstar a pioneer of content in India, that has brought films and shows across many languages, bringing joy to audiences, all within their fingertips. He foresees that the platform's entry into the Telugu market will widen the scope for actors and storytellers in the Telugu industry and prove their potential to a wider audience. He is confident that Telugu content-enthusiasts will have a merry time with the offerings of Disney+ Hotstar in the coming months.
The star also made his first official appearance as the face of Disney+ Hotstar in an episode of the Bigg Boss Telugu season 5, with the host Nagarjuna and the lead cast of Maestro, Nithiin and Nabha Natesh in attendance. In addition to content produced in Telugu, Disney+ Hotstar will dub several Indian and international titles and present cricketing action of VIVO IPL 2021 and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in Telugu as well. Sunil Rayan, President and Head, Disney+ Hotstar expressed his happiness in reaching out to Telugu audiences and promised many latest movies and pathbreaking shows in Telugu soon.
The platform is coming up with several web shows in Telugu soon, including Gharshana, 9 Hours and Jhansi. Disney+ Hotstar is currently streaming all the episodes of the fifth season of Bigg Boss Telugu as well. The OTT platform has bagged the streaming rights for Venkatesh, Meena-starrer Drushyam 2, though it's not confirmed if the film will directly release on OTT.
