It’s official! Rakshit Shetty’s Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B postponed
Side B picks up 10 years after the events of Side A

Actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty was quite happy with his choice of release dates for the two parts of his film with Hemanth M Rao, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello. Called Side A and Side B, they would be presented before audiences seven weeks apart on September 1 and October 20, respectively. The 7-week gap, he reckoned, had a nice ring to it in keeping with the film’s title.

Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B to be postponed by a week or two?

But then, although Rakshit was among the first to block the Dasara long holiday for his film, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B was soon joined by multiple others, including Shivarajkumar’s Ghost, Vijay’s Leo, Ravi Teja’s Tiger Nageshwara Rao, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari, Tiger Shroff’s Ganpath, etc. This, of course meant that even in its core market in Karnataka, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B would have a major struggle for shows/screens and, hence, a little while ago, Rakshit announced that he was moving the release date ahead.

Not to worry, though, because Rakshit made the announcement with an alternate date as well. Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B will now be in theatres on October 27. This was the date he had earlier envisioned for the Telugu dubbed version, so it now remains to be seen if Side B will have a simultaneous release in other languages or if he will stagger it yet again. Side B, meanwhile, takes off 10 years after the events of Side A, when Rakshit’s character Manu leaves prison after serving a 10-year term for a hit-and-run that left a man dead.

Although Manu was not at the wheel at the time, a promise of a lumpsum amount that he reckoned would set him and his love Priya (Rukmini Vasanth) up for life, and that legal aid would be provided to ensure a short term, gets him to take the fall. When the perpetrator’s family then renege on their promise, Manu ends up getting 10 years, which has a massive impact on his relationship with Priya. What happens when he returns will form the crux of Side B.
