It's official! Nayanthara to marry Vignesh Shivan on June 9

It's official. Lady Superstar Nayanthara is all set to marry director-producer Vignesh Shivan on June 9. Vignesh confirmed the news at a press conference today and said that the event will be a private affair with just the family and close friends in attendance. Speaking at the event, Vignesh said, "I am moving on to the next phase of my life as far as my personal life is concerned. I am getting married to the love of my life, Nayanthara, on June 9. The wedding will be an intimate event with with a small cricle of people. We will be sharing the pictures from the wedding by afternoon and Nayanthara and I will together meet the press on June 11."

He added that they had initially planned to have the wedding in Tirupati. "We had planned to get married in Tirupati temple, but there were a lot of logistics issues including the conveyance of guests. So, we have moved it to Mahabalipuram. We hope your support continues even after the wedding," Vignesh said at the event.

The actress and director had met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin to invite him for the wedding. Pictures of the meeting had gone viral on the internet. Actor-politician and son of CM Stalin, Udhayanidhi was also present on the occasion.

Nayanthara and Vignesh Sivan are said to have fallen in love on the sets of their 2015 film, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. The film directed by Vignesh Sivan, had Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara playing the lead characters and was an action comedy. Music for the film was by Anirudh Ravichander and the soundtrack became a huge hit along with the film.

Since then Vignesh, has been regularly sharing pictures with Nayanthara though they never really confirmed their relationship. They had recently teamed up for the comedy entertainer Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kadhal, in which Nayanthara shared screenspace with Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha. The film was directed by Vignesh Shivan.
