Sara Ali Khan realised what an actor's aukaat is and that it's not her choice on the film opting for an OTT release.
Atrangi Re marks Sara Ali Khan's second outing after Coolie No 1 featuring Varun Dhawan in the titular role. The actor, who is three-year-old in the film industry, recently revealed she felt bad that the Aanand L Rai directorial opted for an OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar. But she clarified that it's not her choice to make that decision and she adores the filmmaker so much that she didn't question his reasoning.
During an interaction with Hindustan Times, Sara stated that her first reaction was to feel bad because she makes films for the big screen and believes in the experience. Then, for lack of a better word, she realised what an actor's aukaat is and that it's not her choice.
Sara further said that she adores Aanand, who taught her to love herself when she didn't. So, she is not the one to question his reasoning. Finally, it is important to Sara that people watch the film. The actor added that she would win if she could reach more people's eyes. She is content as long as people can watch the movie and smile.
On sharing her work experience with Akshay Kumar and Dhanush in Atrangi Re the actor called it "insane". Because of Akshay's boundless energy, spontaneity, and spark, Sara revealed that she refers to Akshay as "Thalaivar of the North."
While she called Dhanush an inspiration and an institution in the world of acting, The Simmba actor quipped that Dhanush, a National Award-winning actor, knows his way around a camera like she knows her way around the water. Sara added that there wasn't a single day on set that wasn't a constant learning experience, aside from being fun and creatively rewarding. She wouldn't go back if it was a seven-to-seven shift and she had to pack up after lunch. Sara concluded by saying that she would sit and watch Dhanush's takes on the monitor.
Atrangi Re is streaming from December 24, 2021.
