To add to the cheer and joviality of the holiday season, the popular American sitcom It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is gearing up for a return next month. The 15th season of the show will premiere on December 1 on the US cable channel FXX.

Set in the city of South Philadelphia, the series follows the lives of five friends who own a not so well to do Irish pub by the name of Paddy's Pub.

The series stars Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olson, Charlie Day, Rob McElhenney and Danny DeVito in pivotal roles.

The new season will follow the quirky quintet as they try to navigate their personal and professional lives in the pandemic, while trying to get a better understanding of their identities and roots. The season will also see the gang make their way to Ireland. The title of the first episode was revealed to be 2020: A Year In Review.

The series has received critical acclaim, with some calling it one of the best American sitcoms of all time. After being renewed for a 15th season in 2020, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia became the longest-running American live-action comedy series on television. The cult classic show has also been renewed for three additional seasons as well, making the number of seasons to 18.

The series, created by McElhenney, is produced by FX Productions, 3 Arts Entertainment and RCG Entertainment

All 14 seasons of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia are available to watch on Disney+ Hotstar.
