Akshay Kumar's latest release Khel Khel Mein has grossed Rs. 26 crore in 15 days and became one of the biggest flops of 2024,
Khel Khel Mein
Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein faced stiff competition with Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2 and John Abraham's Vedaa on August 15. While all three films opened strongly, Stree 2 quickly emerged as the clear winner. Unfortunately, Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa struggled to entertain the audiences, disappointing the box office performance. Khel Khel Mein grossed only Rs. 26 crores after fifteen days. However, director Mudassar Aziz acknowledged the challenges faced by Akshay Kumar in recent years.
While talking to Indian Express, Khel Khel Mein director Mudassar Aziz finally opened up about the film's failure. He revealed that he's in no position to talk about a star like Akshay Kumar and his failures. However, quite confidently he stated that his flops streak of Kumar will surely pass one day, just like Shah Rukh Khan, as there was a time when he also faced this same situation, and now overcame it with back-to-back three hits.
“He will find his way. It has happened too many times before. It has happened with Shah Rukh Khan sahab for five-seven years. Unfortunately, we live in a society where writing somebody off is very fashionable. But all that said, I, as a filmmaker, will share my experience working with him”, Aziz said.
The box office failure seemed couldn't disrupt the director’s mind and heart. He seemed to talk with the same enthusiasm. While talking about his experience working with the Khiladi of Bollywood, he shared that a person like Kumar who loves to make comedies and tries his best to make everyone laugh, that the exact thing he wanted to give in his film. According to Aziz, Akshay Kumar is one-of-a-kind in the industry.
