Ishq Vishk Rebound

The movie that marked Shahid Kapoor’s debut in Bollywood Ishq Vishk has not only got an installment coming up but the film is also scheduled for release. You heard us right. Ishq Vishk Rebound, starring Rohit Saraf in the lead role, is now scheduled for a theatrical release. Producer Ramesh Taurani has just announced when will it be out in theatres. Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari has helmed the film this time around. Ken Ghosh had helmed the original movie.

When will Ishq Vishk Rebound release?

Ishq Vishk Rebound is scheduled for June 28 release this year. This would be a week after Indians celebrate Guru Purnima.

New cast

That’s right. Neither Shahid nor Amrita Rao nor Shehnaaz Treasurywalla will be a part of the sequel. This time, the movie stars Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Jibraan Khan and Naila Grrewal. Rohit is most popular for his web series Mismatched, while Pashmina is Hrithik’s cousin sister and Jibraan is the child actor from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He played Rahul and Anjali (Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol)’s son in the movie.

Will the storyline be the same?

There isn’t much clarity on that but the makers promise that the story will be different this time around. The original film revolved around Rajiv Mathur (Shahid) trying to be the most popular in college. He would woo the most attractive woman in college to gain the status. Thus, he starts dating Payal (Amrita) and then breaks up with her. Just when he is thinking about reconciling with her, that Alisha (Shehnaaz) enters the college and he decides to woo her instead, unaware that he is absolutely in love with Payal all this while. Given how there’s a whole generation and mindset switch over the years, it is highly unlikely that the makers will follow the plot for the sequel. One can only wait for June 28 for the mystery to unfold.
