Rajinikanth and Ilaiyaraaja
Music maestro Ilaiyaraaja visited Superstar Rajinikanth at his residence. Since then, pictures of the meeting of the Superstar and the musical legend have been doing the rounds on the internet. However, there is no confirmation on what exactly happened during the meeting. Was it just a courtesy call as the duo have been good friends for many years and have worked together in a number of projects or is there another film on the cards?
Rajinikanth had met Ilaiyaraaja at his newly-built studio in Chennai last year. Ilaiyaraaja had converted a private theatre into a music studio after he had a fallout with the owners of his previous studio where he had been composing music for decades. Since then, Ilaiyaraaja has had a stream of visitors at the studio.
Rajinikanth's elder daughter, Aishwarya Rajinikanth, too, had met the maestro not long ago and pictures of the composer sharing some musical notes and candid pictures of the duo had surfaced on the internet. Aishwarya had written on her social media page after the meeting, "My Monday mid noon couldn’t have been more musical n magical 🎹🎼 always a delight to spend time with my dearest @ilaiyaraaja uncle …🧡#mondayvibes #workmodeon🔛 (sic)." To which Ilaiyaraaja had replied, "am happy to meet and spend time.. many things may happen in one’s life but one thing will never change - my true love.. In the meantime, Ilaiyaraaja is gearing up for a musical concert on his birthday on June 2. The concert will happen in Coimbatore and Ilaiyaraaja will perform along with Carnatic musicians Ranjani-Gayatri. Ilaiyaraaja had shared on his social media page, "happy to perform in Coimbatore on my birthday.. come and enjoy the songs you all love the most.. see you all.. (sic)."
