Priyanka Chopra has reportedly quit Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zaraa. The actress was supposed to do the film with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif.
Rumours of Jee Le Zaraa being stalled recently surfaced online. It was reported that the Farhan Akhtar directorial was put on hold as Priyanka Chopra didn't like the script. Creative differences were cited as the reason the film couldn't go ahead. However, a Hindustan Times report now suggests that the global icon couldn't do the film because of date issues.
Is this the reason Priyanka couldn't do Jee Le Zaraa?
Jee Le Zaraa was supposed to happen with Priyanka, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif. While the film was going to be helmed by Farhan, his sister Zoya Akhtar was going to write it.
Quashing claims of creative differences, a source told Hindustan Times, "There is no truth to this story. There were never creative differences. It’s always been scheduling issues that have been going on for quite some time considering everyone has very active careers. Priyanka and Farhan’s production banner have worked very well and successfully multiple times and know how to create in a professional manner."
Farhan Akhtar on Jee Le Zaraa being delayed
Earlier this year, Farhan told Variety that his film had been delayed due to date issues. "We just have issues with dates, and the actor’s strike that’s happened has put Priyanka’s dates into a huge tizzy with what can happen and what can’t, so I’ve started genuinely believing that that film now has a destiny of its own. It’ll happen when it has to, we’ll see," the filmmaker-actor said.
