Yash was often quoted, as saying, how the KGF franchise provided him with the confidence to propel his career with the right kind of people.
Kannada actor Yash's acting graph and popularity have only become better with time. KGF: Chapter 2 is one of the movies that brought in more than Rs 1200 crore at the box office, making him one of the most bankable actors in the nation.
Even though he continues to receive a tonne of love from admirers and well-wishers from all over the world, Yash, stated in a recent conclave that he wants to do away with the boundaries that separate the entertainment industries, such as Bollywood, Kollywood, Tollywood, and Sandalwood.
Yash, who has more than 11.9 million Instagram followers alone, is one of the highest-paid actors in the South, earning Rs 20 crore every movie. According to rumours, the actor increased his pay and received Rs 27 crore for his role in KGF: Chapter 2.
Yash, with a net worth of $7 million (approx Rs 53 crore), per Asianet News, announced that he would soon reveal his next project and that he has no immediate plans to return to the KGF universe.
The actor, who comes from a humble background, claimed that despite the positive reception to KGF, nothing has changed for his family. He stated that his parents don't frequently attend movie-related events.
Speaking during the conclave session, Yash remarked that in the past, people used to make fun of southern films, particularly, due to poor dubbing.
“Here (in the north), dubbed films rose to popularity ten years ago. South films used to be made fun of. They would make fun of the action scenes, but ultimately they were fascinated. Our movies were initially sold for a low amount. Now, it's not the case,” he added.
Yash expressed gratitude to SS Rajamouli and the Baahubali films for this change. “It takes constant work if you have to break a rock. That push came from Baahubali. KGF was created with a different purpose in mind. We did the franchise to inspire people; not intimidate them.”
Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF-2 stars Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Prakash Raj, Srinidhi Shetty, Malavika Avinash, and Eswari Rao. The film, with Bhuvan Gowda's cinematography and Ravi Basrur's music, was released in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam, in April, this year.
