Is Nikhil Kumar’s film with KVN Productions, Yaduveera, happening?

The film, to be directed by debutant Manju Atharva, was announced way back in January, for Nikhil’s birthday. Rumour is that it has been shelved.

If Yaduveera is indeed shelved, what's next for Nikhil?

When Nikhil Kumar was promoting his last release, Rider, in December 2021, he was sporting a rather unkempt look as far as his hair and beard goes, which he attributed to preparation for an upcoming film. When asked, he had said, “This is for a film that I will start in January. The team feels that this look will suit the character, although we have not finalized the same. I began growing out my hair and beard for a film and if the look test works well, I may not be able to get rid of it for a while. This is a massy commercial film, for which I need a rugged look. But, as is the case with all my films, this too will have a strong emotional element, especially a mother-son sentiment.”

In January, it was announced that Nikhil’s next as leading man would be a film with KVN Productions, to be directed by Manju Atharva. A first look poster with Nikhil in a rugged, rough-and-tough avatar was unveiled along with the title, Yaduveera, on the actor’s birthday. In the seven months since, there’s not been a single update about the film, and going by Nikhil’s social media posts, it looks like he is not maintaining that look anymore and has trimmed his hair and beard. The latest we hear is that Yaduveera has been shelved. Neither party has offered any information yet as to why the film failed to take off.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that Nikhil had been approached by director Nandakishore for a role in a film he was to do with Shiva Rajkumar. The Century Star has a handful of projects that should keep him busy for the next couple of years at least and a film with Nandakishore is not on that list. Nanda is apparently in talks to do a film with Kiccha Sudeep instead. There is another rumour that Nanda might direct Nikhil’s next. We will keep you updated as and when we hear from the team
