The latest poster of Hi Nanna has sparked speculation about the similarities between this Nani starrer and Kavin's Dada.
Telugu star Nani is quite upbeat about his upcoming movie Hi Nanna. Earlier this week, he released a teaser for the movie revealing the emotional core of the drama. However, the movie's latest poster has sparked speculation about the similarities between this upcoming Telugu movie and the Tamil movie Dada.
The latest poster of Hi Nanna captures the intimacy of the movie's narrative. It features, Nani, Mrunal Thakur and Kiara Khanna sleeping in close embrace together, capturing the comfort and warmth among them. The poster reminded many of the final image of Dada, which also shows a family of three: father, wife and son, lying on the floor in a similar fashion.

Based on the visual similarities, many jumped to the conclusion about Hi Nanna taking its inspiration from Dada. However, those who have seen the Tamil movie, which stars Kavin in the lead role, can tell you it's not.
Hi Nanna vs Dada
The thematic and narrative differences between Hi Nanna and Dada are very evident in their teasers and trailers.
Hi Nanna tells the story of a warm and charming relationship between a father and daughter. It's safe to assume that the girl's mother passed away before her time, leaving the parenting responsibility solely on the shoulders of her father. The young father seems to face the moral dilemma about whether or not to marry the woman she loves or continue being a single parent to his daughter.

In the meantime, Dada is about how an unplanned pregnancy changes the lives of two young lovers. Kavin's Manikandan doesn't want to become a father even before he finishes college and finds a decent-paying job. But, his girlfriend Aparna Das's Sindhu Manikandan is adamant about keeping the baby. But, after the delivery, she abandons both her boyfriend and son. Now, Manikandan needs to learn ways to finish college, hold onto a job and take care of his son without any help from his girlfriend or family.
It's clear Hi Nanna and Dada are the same. Also, you can stream Dada on Amazon Prime video.
