Is Mrunal Thakur making her Tamil debut with Silambarasan’s STR48? Here is all that we know

One of the much-anticipated projects from the Tamil film industry is STR 48 starring Silambarasan in the lead role. The makers had recently dropped an exciting update of the film by revealing a poster from the film. In the latest, reports suggest that the much-happening actor Mrunal Thakur has been roped in to play the female lead.

While an official confirmation on the same has not been made by the makers, if the reports are indeed true, it will be the first time Mrunal will be working with Silambarasan and mark her Tamil debut as well.

Mrunal Thakur in STR48?

STR48 is directed by Desingh Periasamy and backed by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International. Now as per reports, the makers are looking to cast Mrunal Thakur, who has also expressed her interest to get involved in the film. Speculations were also rife that Keerthy Suresh and Pooja Hegde might also be part of the cast, however it is unclear of Mrunal will join them or have replaced them.

The makers had unveiled a new poster recently, which has hues of red, as we see two side-profile faces of Silambarasan looking at each other. While both of them sport a long mane and blood marks, the poster gives a hint that the film will be set against a mystical backdrop. The makers have not yet announced the title. From the looks of the poster, the film is expected to have high-octane action sequences. A release date and additional technical crew details have not yet been revealed.

Mrunal opens up about nepotism

Mrunal Thakur was last seen in Telugu film Hi Nanna opposite Nani. The actor is also awaiting the release of Family Star alongside Vijay Deverakonda in April. Meanwhile, Mrunal had opened up about the topic of nepotism and how star kids cannot be blamed for it.

The actor recollected a moment from an awards function when the media left her in between an interview to attend a star kid who had arrived. She had said, “It’s not their fault, they are star kids, it is we, as common people, who are so intrigued to know what’s going on in their life.”
