In a recent light-hearted Q&A session, emerging actor Manikandan was playfully asked whether he could take Vijay's place in the Tamil film industry, evoking a lighthearted response from him. Manikandan, currently promoting his upcoming movie Lover , made it clear that he didn't want to entertain such a discussion, even in jest. "In 2006, I entered the film industry. Almost 16 years later, the spotlight is gradually turning towards me. It seems like you have planned to run it for me," Manikandan humorously complained but with a hint of seriousness.

Aware of the sensitivity of the topic and the high emotions surrounding it, Manikandan understands that making light of the situation could potentially harm his budding career in Tamil cinema.

Thalapathy Vijay's dramatic announcement

Thalapathy Vijay's decision to exit cinema for a political career left millions of his fans disheartened. However, in announcing his decision, Vijay emphasized that his venture into politics was a way of repaying the people who elevated him to the status of one of India's biggest movie stars.

Vijay revealed that his political party would be named Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam, and he intends to contest the Tamil Nadu assembly elections in 2026. Before fully dedicating himself to politics, he plans to fulfil his remaining film commitments. It is widely believed that Thalapathy 69 will be Vijay's last movie.
