Is Kartik Aaryan still a part of Hera Pheri 3? Here's what Paresh Rawal has to say

Is Kartik Aaryan a part of Heri Pheri franchise? Well, it is not yet confirmed.

Ever since actor Suniel Shetty confirmed that Hera Pheri 3 is under development, the buzz around the franchise has been soaring on a daily basis. Earlier news reports surfaced that Akshay Kumar will not be a part of the franchise, and instead, Kartik Aaryan has been approached to play Akshay’s character. Knowing this, the franchise received a huge backlash.

As of today, the reality is completely different. Suniel Shetty has said on numerous occasions that the original cast of the franchise will be retained.

Speaking on this developing matter, Paresh Rawal, who is known for his role as Baburao Apte in the series, said to News18, "Kartik Aaryan had a different role in the film. He wasn’t supposed to play Raju, who was played by Akshay Kumar in the first two films. Kartik’s character wasn’t cut from the same cloth as Raju's and was made with a different fabric."

Paresh Rawal tells the news portal, "Kartik’s role was different and had a different kind of energy than Raju's. The premise of his character was different. One shouldn’t be afraid of backlash. And once people watch a film, they forget all the backlash."

With this statement, it is not clear whether Kartik is a part of the franchise or not.

Paresh, meanwhile, further spoke about how people began addressing him after the success of the series. The veteran actor had mentioned that he was ‘sick and tired’ of the memes and reels made out of Baburao Apte, his character in Hera Pheri. He also confesses that he grew overconfident during Phir Hera Pheri (2006). "There was a sense of overconfidence, and that shouldn’t have happened. Suniel Shetty Anna was earnest and honest and carried the legacy of Shyam in an amazing way. Characters and plots like Hera Pheri come our way very rarely," he said.

For the uninitiated, Hera Pheri is a series of Indian comedy films. The first film is directed by Priyadarshan and produced by A.G. Nadiadwala; the second film is directed by Neeraj Vora; and the third will be directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwala.
