Karan Johar, the maker of many superhit films, in presently in Toronto, where he is promoting his latest production 'Kill'
You can always be ‘rest assured’ when it comes to the prolific film maker Karan Johar, when it comes to calling a spade a spade… but with a smile. One of the major USPs of Karan Johar is his ability to joke at his own self and take his life as a testimony in order to drive home any point. Presently, Karan Johar is in Toronto, where he is promoting his latest production 'Kill'. Speaking of ‘Kill’, the film was currently premiered at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival.
During his visit to Toronto, Karan Johar had an interactive session post the screening of his film ‘Kill’. It is during this session that the prolific film maker spoke about fighting the perception that stated his company ‘Dharma Production’ only produces the films which is about 'rich' people. To which, Karan Johar said that he had been trying to break the perception that Dharma Productions was burdened by it because, he (Karan Johar) still gets asked about him making only make family films' or NRI-friendly films about rich people. Saying this, Karan Johar added that, it was really ridiculous that one gets slotted.
During the same interaction, Karan Johar also gave his trademarked sassy reference to his fellow film maker Anurag Kashyap. During this time, Karan Johar said that, one gets doomed by perception. He even added that, if his name was Karan Kashyap, he would have done so much better with a certain section of people. As an icing on the cake, Karan Johar said that, it was like he was doomed by his own name!
As for the film ‘Kill’ (which belongs to the action thriller genre), it stars the debutante Lakshya playing the leading role. Along with him are Raghav Juyal and Tanya Maniktala, who will be seen in important roles. The film, which is being produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment, has been directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt
