Drishyam 2.
Jeethu Joseph’s Malayalam film Drishyam 2, featuring Mohanlal in the lead role, created quite a storm back when it released in February 2021. Soon after its release, there were reports that the film will be remade in Hindi.
More recently, Jeethu’s name has been linked to the Hindi film. The filmmaker had made his Hindi film debut with Emraan Hashmi-Rishi Kapoor’s The Body but has not explored the cinema as much as the Malayalam industry.
Times Of India reached out to the director who cleared that he is not directing the project, at least now. “No, I won’t be directing it," he clarified.
Drishyam, starring Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran and Tabu in the lead roles, was directed by Nishikant Kamat. With the director’s passing away, it is still unclear who the baton of the film will be passed on to.
When the publication asked Jeethu for his opinion on the same, he shunned them down stating, “Let the makers decide.”
Drishyam 2: The Resumption was a story which brought closure to the murder case. The crime-drama film, which was shot in Malayalam, went on floors in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic.
Jeethu is currently helming the Telugu version of the film, Drushyam 2. The film stars Venkatesh and Meena in the lead roles.
Drishyam 2 is also being remade in Chinese. The movie is slated to release in theatres there.
