Jayam Ravi has proved himself as an entertaining actor for almost two decades. From playing lover boy roles in films such as Santhosh Subramaniam to intense cop roles in movies such as Thani Oruvan, the Tamil actor has been a shining star in Kollywood. In a recent promotional interview for his latest outing Siren, the actor opened up about his plans of venturing into film direction.
When asked about his future plans, the actor replied, “I have written three scripts and one of them will have Yogi Babu playing the lead.” He even joked that he had already signed him up for the project by handing over an advance of Rs 500. “The other script will be headlined by myself, as I saw myself in that character when I was writing, hence I don't see anyone else playing it,” the actor revealed. He added, “The third script anyone can be roped in as the cast. Not just myself, I think anyone can play that role.” When enquired about when he will be making his directorial debut, the actor said that he is still trying to come out of his comfort zone, and hopes that the project will materialise soon.
While the actor has not mentioned a specific date to start the production of the scripts, fans believe that the actor might begin working on the said projects from this year. Nonetheless, we are truly curious to know what genre Jayam Ravi is aiming to narrate; Will it be a rom-com? Or a crime thriller? Keep track of this space for more updates!
Meanwhile, the actor’s latest outing Siren, which released on February 16, opened to positive reviews from audiences who enjoyed the actor’s aged avatar in the revenge thriller. The movie has so far minted Rs 8 crore worldwide at the box office.
