Is Dhanush teaming up with Amaran director Rajkumar Periasamy for his next? Here’s what we know

Dhanush, who has some of the most exciting releases lined up for this year, is in talks for yet another project. The Captain Miller star is set to join forces with Amaran director Rajkumar Periasamy for his next, according to the latest reports. Rajkumar Periasamy is reportedly in talks with Dhanush to work on a yet-to-be-titled project.
GN Anbu Chezhiyan of Gopuram Films is said to be producing the film. Chezhiyan has previously worked with Dhanush in the 2015 blockbuster film Thanga Magan, which was directed by Velraj.
Is Dhanush and director Chidambaram’s project still on?
Earlier, it was reported that Chidambaram, the director of Malayalam blockbuster Manjummel Boys, was in talks to team up with Dhanush for his next . However, the latest updates suggest that the film has been delayed due to Chidambaram’s other commitments with another star in Malayalam. Hence, going by the reports, we can expect Dhanush to team up with director Rajkumar Periasamy for their project soon!

Meanwhile, Rajkumar Periasamy’s upcoming biopic Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan, is currently in its production stage. However, we have come to know that the film might get a Vinayaka Chaturthi release this year! According to close sources, the makers of the film are eyeing a September release, with certain reports suggesting that the film will be out in theatres on September 6. However, an official confirmation from the team is awaited.
For the unversed, the film, which stars Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, is based on the late Major Mukund Varadarajan. The film is backed by Kamal Haasan’s production house, Raaj Kamal Films International.
Dhanush’s exciting lineup
On the other hand, Dhanush, who had an impressive start this year with the success of Captain Miller, will be next seen in Sekhar Kammula's film, Kubera. The bilingual film also stars Nagarjuna Akkineni, Rashmika Mandanna and Jim Sarbh in pivotal roles.

Apart from his acting roles, Dhanush's two major directorial ventures – Raayan and Nilavuku Enmel Ennadi Kobam will also be hitting the big screens this year.
