After dabbling in OTT with last year's Gehraiyaan Deepika Padukone is reportedly going even further into the medium. Reports are making the rounds that there have been rumblings recently that the actor is supposedly in talks for a web project that will explore the drug mafia culture in India.

Excitement over OTT's power and reach

Hindustan Times reported that Deepika is reportedly in talks with Netflix on a big action thriller, according to an insider. She is excited to learn more about the medium now that she has witnessed its power and reach.

An insider told the daily that this project will explore the drug mafia narrative in India, presenting it from a female perspective and boasting that the project is supposedly in its early stages. The story and action are going to be dramatic and captivating. Though she is still assessing how well it fits into her current schedule, Deepika is ready to dedicate herself to this project.

Versatility in action films

With Pathaan the actor has generated quite a stir in the action film industry this year. In addition to her role as Fighter opposite Hrithik Roshan, she has joined Rohit Shetty's police universe as Lady Singham and received accolades for her appearance in Jawan.

The teaser for the film intrigued the masses, and it has become one of the most anticipated films of 2024. It is scheduled for a theatrical release during the Republic Day weekend, specifically on January 25.
