Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar, it would seem, has really understood the value of OTT platforms in these changing times of content consumption. The actor, who has been dabbling with production for TV and now OTT too with the banner Shri Mutthu Cine Services, run by his daughter Niveditha, was at the launch of Kannada content on the OTT platform Talkies recently.

While the shows Hate You Romeo and Honeymoon, produced by Shri Mutthu Cine Services and Sakkath Studio are headed to Talkies soon, the actor said that he was looking forward to a continued relationship with the platform in creating good Kannada content. While on the topic, the actor added, “I am also doing something for OTT – a web series produced by my daughter. During the pandemic, a lot of us were introduced to the concept of web series and watched a lot of content from across the globe in different genres. I have been watching and studying the evolving trends in web series production. This is a new chapter in entertainment and people like me have to be a part of it. Today, I feel blessed when young talent approaches me to be a part of their projects,” said the Century Star.

Meanwhile, Shivarajkumar, who was last seen onscreen in a cameo in his late brother Puneeth Rajkumar’s James, has the Vijay Milton directorial Bairagee coming up next, followed by Nee Sigoovaregu and Vedha, among others.

Talkies App, which has been operation for the last two years with Tulu content, officially launched its Kannada content basket this week. Backed by Swayamprabha Productions, which produced the Vijay Raghavendra starrer Malgudi Days earlier, the OTT platform first dropped the first part of the crime thriller series Hakunamatata with Vijay in the lead and followed that up with other shows featuring Vaishnavi Gowda, Bhoomi Shetty, etc.
