Ever since the time reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ got premiered on Indian television, it had been making news (and still continues) to do so for many reasons. The most important question that is always playing in the minds of many is that, ‘Is Bigg Boss’ scripted’. While many want to enter the ‘Bigg Boss’ house in order to achieve name, fame and money, there are others who have termed the whole reality show to be ‘scripted’. Just a few weeks’ days back, it was the actress Rubina Dilaik who had said that the reality show was a scripted one in one of her interviews. She also added that, being the face of the channel does help a person win the show. One may recall that, Rubina Dilaik was the winner of ‘Bigg Boss Season 14’.

The latest one to call the reality show as ‘scripted’ is Apurva Agnihotri. He took to his vlog and went onto tem the controversial reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ as 'scripted'. However, Shilpa replied to him that ‘Bigg Boss’ was not scripted. Readers may recall that, both, Apurva Agnihotri and his wife Shilpa Saklani were a part of ‘Bigg Boss 7’.

In the vlog, Apurva Agnihotri started his video saying that, he wasn’t every kicked about it (participating in ‘Bigg Boss’) and that many people had repeatedly asked him whether the show was scripted or not. That’s when his wife Shilpa Saklani chipped in saying that, almost every year, both, her husband Apurva and she had been getting calls to participate in the show and that they used to refuse it, because they (the show makers and the channel) wanted either her or Apurva. And, only during season seven that the makers decided to invite the duo as a couple, based on which, they agreed to participate. Apurva even clicked his finger and said that, the concept of ‘Bigg Boss’ is such that, whatever name and fame one has earned over the many years, can be vanished within three months of their participation in the show. He also cited examples of many of his friends who had participated in the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ eventually had to seek psychiatric treatment from a therapist after they came out of the show.

And when Apurva spoke about the show being scripted or not, Shilpa said the show was not scripted. She added that, every individual knows for a fact that, that if he/ she want to become ‘THE’ person in the season, their pre-requisites happen to be you react, give content, you fight, and you keep your point of view before everyone and be assertive. She also questioned that, what if a person’s personality is just not like the traits mentioned.

As for the show being ‘scripted’, Apurva said that, if they (the channel) are fond of some contestant, that way the show is scripted. Even though Shilpa did not agree with Apurva initially, but, eventually, after hearing this, she nodded in affirmation. Apurva also cited the example of the latest season and its winner9without naming anyone). He then walked past memory lane and spoke about Gauahar Khan being the winner of the season in which they had participated. Apurva said that, even though Gauahar Khan was ten thousand times the deserving winner, but, he would have been happy if Kushal Tandon would have won that season of ‘Bigg Boss’.

Shilpa, on her part, did not mince her words when she said that, ‘Bigg Boss’ was not a joyous experience for them and definitely not a good place to be in (at least not for them). She added that, they (Apurva and her) had participated in many reality shows and had enjoyed them totally but, ‘Bigg Boss’ was not one of their favourites as she termed herself and Apurva as not the prototypes for ‘Bigg Boss’.

She added that they have learnt a lot from the show and most importantly, how to keep your sanity when a person is being driven to sanity. She added that, despite everything, they came out with flying colours. She also cited an incident (read ‘task’) which was assigned to Apurva, in which he had to chop his hair to look like a Mohawk, which readily obliged to do. But, after being eliminating from the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’, when he had reported to the makers another daily soap, which he was supposed to do after ‘Bigg Boss’, the makers of the show told him that, since his look (at that time of a ‘mohawk’) did not suit the role of a businessman (which he was supposed to be playing in the daily soap), Apurva lost out on doing the daily soap. Shilpa also added that, throughout the season she was bullied because if her nature of being a ‘pati-vrata’.
