Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are aware of the studio's ambitions for the franchise over the next few years, thanks to Marvel's first Hall H panel in a few years last summer. A third Doctor Strange movie was not mentioned in any announcements, though. One could think that the events of Avengers: Secret Wars will be caused by the incursion that Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Madness hints at. The only problem is that the intrusions were only briefly mentioned and not explained further.

Naturally, we must inquire as to whether a third Doctor Strange movie will be released to fill the void left by the first two films. Even though Marvel hasn't announced a third movie, Benedict Cumberbatch has said he'd like to play Doctor Strange again in the near future.

Last summer, Cumberbatch told The New India Express that he hoped and would love to play this character again. The actor added that there seems to be so much more to learn about Doctor Strange because he is such a multifaceted guy. He's still having a blast portraying him, and he is such a fantastic character.

Even though Marvel often works with the same directors, for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the studio decided to switch between Scott Derrickson and Sam Raimi. Derrickson did, however, promise to work with Marvel again if they desired to at this time last year. In response to a fan at the time, Derrickson tweeted that he loved working with Marvel and would totally do it again.

Michael Waldron, who wrote Multiverse of Madness said in the beginning that Strange and Clea (Charlize Theron) might go back to the Dark Dimension in a third Doctor Strange movie to stop another invasion. They have always known they wanted to introduce Clea, who in the comics is sort of like Doctor Strange's great love but who is actually in many ways his formidable equal as a sorceress. She is the niece of Dormammu, the enormous floating head from the first film, and her backstory is interesting. They have a lot of exciting adventures in the comics, and they knew they wanted to include her, but it felt like they had to wrap up his romance with Christine Palmer, played by Rachel McAdams, in some ways.

On Disney+ Hotstar, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently streaming.
