,The film marks H Vinoth's third collaboration with Ajith after Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai
With Ajith's Thunivu slated to release for Pongal 2023, speculations have been rife that the film is a heist thriller just like Venkat Prabhu's Mankatha, which also had Ajith in the lead. However, in a recent interview to ETimes, the film's director has cleared the air stating that though the film revolves around money, we cannot put it in certain brackets like that of a heist thriller or action thriller. He added that the film cannot be categorised in a particular genre. When quizzed if Ajith will be seen in a character with shades of grey, H Vinoth said that if he answered the question, people will instantly compare with Mankatha.
It is said that Ajith will be in a never-before-seen-avatar in the film. The dubbing for the film has been wrapped up and the team is currently busy with the post-production work. GM Sundar, who plays a crucial role in the film, had recently stated that he has completed dubbing for his portions. He captioned in Tamil, which roughly translates, “Thunivu dubbing has been wrapped up on a good note (sic).” The film has an ensemble star cast with Manju Warrier playing the leading lady and teaming up with Ajith for the first time in her career. The supporting cast includes Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Veera, Ciby Bhuvana Chandran, Amir and Pavani Reddy to name a few.
Music for the film is by Ghibran. Thunivu marks H Vinoth and Boney Kapoor's third collaboration with Ajith after Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai. The film is all set to clash with Vijay's Varisu on Pongal 2023 and the biggies of Tamil cinema will be clashing with each other for the first time. The last time the duo's films clashed with each other was in 2014, when Vijay's Jilla and Ajith's Veeram took on each other. Hence, fans of both actors are eagerly awaiting the clash.
