Reports reveal that actor Vijay and his associates will approach the Election Commission and register his party in the first couple of weeks of February
Actor Vijay, who is one of the top tier actors of Tamil film industry and well-known Indian star who enjoys a massive fan following, is soon set to make a political plunge and start a party. However, the actor is yet to make his plans official.
As per reports, close sources of the actor have revealed that Vijay and his associates will approach the Election Commission and register his party in the first couple of weeks of February. The name of his political party is yet to be announced. If the news is indeed true, it might be a joyous occasion to his fans who have been supporting the actor in his ups and downs for the past many decades.

It is not new for Tamil actors to take a political plunge after attaining stardom through films. Late and former Tamil Nadu chief minister MG Ramachandran founded the AIADMK party after becoming one of the successful stars. Former chief minister Karunanidhi of DMK served as a Tamil screenplay writer. Actors Vijayakanth, Jayalalitha, Sarathkumar, Kamal Haasan, and many others have entered the political arena.
As per latest reports, Vijay is set to follow the trend too. A general counsel meeting was held in Vijay's office in Chennai with the actor serving as the party president. The party will be registered before 2024 Lok Sabha polls, but with Vijay set to make his debut in the upcoming 2024 state assembly polls, as per reports. His fan club, which goes by the name, Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, will be turned into a party. The club is known to indulge in social welfare activities like organising blood donation camps, helping flood victims, honouring school students, to name a few.
Vijay was last seen in Leo under Lokesh Kanagaraj’s directorial. His next film, which has been titled GOAT- Greatest of All Time, will be helmed by Venkat Prabhu. The makers had released the posters of the film suggesting that the actor will appear in two roles, one young and old. With the actor entering politics, one need to wait and see if Vijay will continue acting in films or resign himself to full-fledged political life.
