What is Iratta about?
The film begins with police officer Vinod being found dead inside a police station, just before the expected arrival of a minister. Three cops are held as suspects, while Vinod’s brother Pramod arrives on the scene to investigate the case. As he puts together the clues, it also reveals Vinod’s abrasive personality and the reason for the same – a strained relationship with his brother at a young age. How this has caused him to be caustic and why it also has a huge bearing on the cop’s death form the plot of the movie, which is also scripted by Rohit.
In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Rohit talked about doing a film in which its lead actor had to essay a double role. “While writing the script, we believed if we found a good artiste to play the role, it would take care of itself. Because the challenge is mostly for the artiste to turn into two different people,” he said.
When and where to watch Iratta on OTT?
Iratta, which is co-produced by Joju and director Martin Prakkat, is set to begin streaming on Netflix from March 3 onwards. Incidentally, Joju and Martin’s Nayattu also dropped on the streaming platform after its theatrical run two years ago.
