While Iratta has Joju George essaying a double role, Adrishyam is a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual
Malayalam actor Joju George has back-to-back releases this week, with his films Adrishyam and Iratta hitting OTT platforms. While Adrishyam is a Malayalam-Tamil bilingual, Iratta has Joju essaying a double role for the first time in his career. Both the movies are helmed by debutants.
Zac Harriss’ Adrishyam hit Amazon Prime Video on February 28. The movie, which also has Sharafudheen, Narain, Pavithra Lekshmi, Anandhi and Athmiya. The film hit theatres last year and revolves around a group of people who are trying to find a missing girl. While Narain plays a police officer in the film, Joju’s character carries out his parallel investigation after being instructed by a politician.
While the Malayalam version of the film released on the streaming platform on February 28, the Tamil version, which is titled Yuki, is yet to have a release date. The Tamil version also has a different cast with Kathir playing a major character. Zac had earlier told us that the had treated both Adrishyam and Yuki as different films as they had a different cast and also required the actors to perform differently.
Meanwhile, director Rohit MG Krishnan’s Iratta, which has Joju essaying the role of twins Vinod and Pramod – both police officers, is set to release on Netflix on March 3. The movie also revolves around an investigation after Vinod is found dead inside a police station and his brother connects to dots for a shocking revelation.

The movie also has Manoj KU, Anjali, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Sarath Sabha, Arya Salim, Srinda, Sreekanth Murali, Kichu Tellus, Sabumon Abdusamad and James Eliya as part of the cast.
In a recent interview with OTTplay, the film’s director Rohit had said it was Joju’s idea to make both the characters’ twins in Iratta. The actor has also co-produced the movie with Nayattu and Charlie filmmaker Martin Prakkat.
